RESET, RECONNECT, RECHARGE

RESET- press 'pause' on life! Step away from the demands, busyness and
pressures of everyday life - into the wilderness.
RECONNECT to you and
RECHARGE by allowing the experience of being
in the wilderness to breathe life into you.

WHAT IS ARISE?

It is a wilderness experience.  It is about being stripped back from our normal securities, our ability to control, plan, distract ourselves or make ourselves comfortable.

The goal of the weekend is not to get from A to B, and it's not about proving how strong, capable, fast and self-sufficient you are.
It's about letting go ...
letting go of our need to be in control, please people, impress others.

For us as Crew we are not here to give you answers
and we are not here to fix one another.
Although some of us have a faith, we do not require any religious beliefs;
each person should feel accepted to be who they are.

RESET,

RECONNECT,

RECHARGE

This is an invitation for you to go on an adventure -
to listen, reflect and learn.

FAQ’s (Arise UK)

Can I attend on my own? / Can I attend in a group?

Yes … either!  If you are on your own we will group you with other individuals so you can organise sharing kit and travelling to the event in advance.  If you are signing up with a group of friends let us know and we will keep you together.

What kit should I bring?

It's important that you ONLY bring what is on the list, nothing more. Try to borrow any items you don't already have.  We advise you share a tent and a stove with a friend or someone in your group.

In the event of a family emergency how can I be contacted?

Mobiles and watches are taken off participants on the Friday at the meeting point and returned to you safely at the end of the event on Sunday. We will provide you with an emergency contact number that family/friends can use to get a message to you on the weekend should you need to contact home.

How fit do I need to be to take part?

It is a physically challenging event, so if you can't walk up stairs or jog to the local shop without breathing heavily it's definitely time to start training. Prepare as much as you can in the lead up to the event - walk, run, do basic strength training (Try these Apps / websites: Couch to 5km / Parkrun / Strength training for women / Step Challenge etc.).  Also ensure you drink plenty of water and fuel your body with healthy 'quality' calories.  You’ll need to be able to carry a 15kg (65litre) rucksack over rough terrain for at least 5miles/8km - but remember it’s as much about your attitude to physical challenge and putting yourself out of your comfort zone, as it is about your physical fitness.

Can I bring snacks and drinks?

No.  All food is supplied.  You bring 1.5 litres of water and we supply water and everything else thereafter.  Extra food (unless for medical reasons will be confiscated).  If you’ve filled in the relevant details in your sign up form we will take your food allergies and medical conditions into account.

What about when I need the toilet?

Arise is a wild camping experience, there are no toilet facilities; we use a trowel and a hole!  However, a temporary tent will be available if privacy is needed, i.e. if women are on their period.

When should I sign up?

Now! And encourage your friends to join you, you won't regret it.
